Hallo!!! everyone there.... Kenneth here!! this blog wasn't all about me... It's about current issues, personal views, sharing, maybe some knowledge and mind triggering question for our readers.

Ambidexterity VS Cross-Dominance

This blog post was inspired by my first visit to
Ripley's Believe it or not in Genting Highland....
This was where and when i saw an unbelievable fact that there is this human being who is able to write simultaneously with both hand and even upside down and backwards. That is more that just fascinating fact but unbelievable....

The word "ambidextrous" is derived from the Latin roots ambi, meaning "both," and Dexter, meaning "right" or favorable.

Thus, "ambidextrous" is literally "right on both sides".

Ambidexterity is the state of being equally adept in the use of both right and left appendages

(such as the hands). It is one of the most famous varieties of cross-dominance.

Although ambidexterity is rare, ambidextrous people may still gravitate towards performing certain types of tasks with a specific hand. The degree of versatility with each hand is generally the qualitative factor in determining a person's ambidexterity.

In modern times, it is more common to find people considered ambidextrous who were originally left-handed, and who learned to be ambidextrous either deliberately or during childhood in institutions such as schools where right-handed habits are often emphasized. Also, since many everyday devices are designed to be only ergonomic for right-handed people, many left-handed people choose to use the device with the right hand (good examples are can openers or scissors. As a result, left-handed people are much more likely to develop motor skills in their non-dominant hand than right-handed people (who are not subjected to left-favoring devices). Ambidexterity is often encouraged in activities requiring a great deal of skill in both hands, such as juggling, swimming,, word processing, surgery, and combat.

Cross-dominance, also known as mixed-handedness, mixed dominance, or hand-confusion, is a motor skill manifestation where a person favors one hand for some tasks and the other hand for others. For example, a cross-dominant person might write with the left hand but grab primarily with the right. Ambidexterity is a well-known but amazingly rare variant of cross-dominance, but cross-dominant people may also be left or right-handed rather than ambidextrous.

It can also refer to mixed laterality , which refers to a person favoring eyes, ears, feet, or hands on one side of the body. A person who is Cross-dominant can also be stronger on the opposite side of the body that they favor; for example, a right-handed person can be stronger on the left side. Cross-dominance can often be a problem when shooting or in activities that require aim.

I was consider as a Ambidexterity individual as i can write with both hands, draw with both hands, or even play sports(Badminton, Basketball, tennis etc) with both hands...

And I was told that people who are Ambidexterity are kinda of smart and talented, but i wonder what is my special talent and intelligence??? Haha never mind was just thinking here... ...

Never mind, i just wanna know if you people think that Ambidexterity people are More outstanding...

(Referring to those successful people)

Here are some Successful/Famous individual who are well know having Ambidexterity skills....
