MBA – Master in Business Administration

THE EXPERIENCE…

Attending a MBA tour was a different experience for me… The first things I felt was… I’m the weird one as I arrive at the Ballroom at Westin Hotel. What makes it weird???? Simple… the eyes of the other participants who look at me as though I’m a monkey from the Zoo….

(Just because I’m too young to be there????)

Average age for people there are around their 29 or 30’s.

SIMPLE THOUGHT…

“It is not where you study that determining your success the most…

It Is the environment and people around you that determine how successful you could be”. (Anonymous, 2008).

Alright, wondering why this guy says so?

An example is such…

You may be rich and smart enough to enter world No1 University such as

Harvard University or London Business School or maybe MIT.

But if your surrounding (People) are not competitive… you will never grow.

Environment will influence us a lot; let me give you an example…

My experience is such that if you study a private university in Malaysia,

Basically u will improve in 3 things…

1. English

2. Studies

3. Competitiveness

(because many people will be very ‘Kia Su’)

so you can get good result… And of course you have paid lots of Money… Don’t waste money okay… So just study hard…

That happen to me… my results in my High school were just average…

Now at least I have collected beautiful colour in my result sheets…

Next, studying in Local Government University… you will get to learn 2 things as well….

1. Malay

2. Mandarin

3. Studies

(Because Chinese speaks mandarin to their friends and Malay to their lecturer)

so….. English… Mm… next time when they go out to work perhaps…

Of course not all Local University speaks Malay…

UIAM-International Islamic University

is one out of many universities who use English as a teaching medium.

My point here is… I’m happy that I’ve enrolled into a Private University…

Because I would like to be influence to speak English at all time and

Compete with Elite student so that I will be able to improve myself….

Now In my working environment it requires English as a basic medium to communicate…

And last week, I’ve witness an interesting incident…

An interview session…

Local graduates (Many of them) who came for interview but they are having problem in communicating in English…

So my friends out there… It’s for you guys to enroll into Local University but keep in mind that English is crucial in time to come…

‘Be competitive and be prepared’

(Kentsan, 2008).

AFTER MBA TOUR…

Networking is the key to be success in business, which is what MBA will teach you.

After attending the MBA World tour I have gathered many great opinions and ideas from the experts..

Perhaps people may wonder why I wanna go for a MBA since I’m a Psycho student…. For me there are only two kind of people in this world…..( I mean majority).

The First types of people are those who buy things and spend, which I will call them the (CONSUMER),

The second types of person are those who sell things to those who need and I name them as the (SUPPLIER).

So in today’s world… How many are there who stand up as a supplier? And what is the ration for Consumer VS Supplier? Using our common sense…. Consumer is always greater than the Supplier… maybe a 8:2 (Consumer: Supplier).

Now my point is… in such competitive world…. Holding a single Bachelor Degree will not feed my tummy with Nutritious food nor comfortable life… What makes it worse is when we are no longer single and will hold the responsibility to take care of a Family… (Grandparents, Parents or Spouse). Well it’s not that early for me yet.. but in 5-7 years time… its it sufficient for anyone of use to prepare ourselves to face these challenges….

For me the answer is yes… I’m planning as well as making things to happen… I wanna earn my own money and allowance for me to continue my further studies in The States or UK for both my Master in Psychology and my MBA.

Now setting a goal for this will motivate me to achieve higher that any of my age mate or even course mate…. One way for making my Family proud is to have great achievement to repay their effort in bringing up both me and my Bro…

Hopefully as time passed by… The TEH family will produce 2 Doctor in future…
